TippedEars FAQ

We’ve compiled a list of frequently asked questions and answers for your convenience. If you can’t find what you’re looking for, please get in touch and we’ll respond to your inquiry as quickly as possible.

DO YOUR TNR SERVICES COST MONEY?

No. As a nonprofit organization, our services are free. We do always accept donations.

DO YOU HAVE KITTENS THAT I CAN FOSTER OR ADOPT?

If you are able to foster until adoption, please fill out our foster application! Since we do not have a physical location, all foster parents must keep their kittens until adoption. All of our adoptable cats and kittens will be posted on our website, Adopt-a-Pet, and PetFinder once they are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and FIV/FeLV tested.

CAN YOU TRAP IN MY AREA?

If you are located in Compton, CA and would like us to assist trapping in your area, please send us an email at info@tippedears.org. Include the following information: your address, how many cats there are, if any of the current cats are fixed, and information on the feeder if it is not you.

DO YOU REMOVE OR RELOCATE CATS?

Generally, no. We do not remove or relocate community cats. In certain situations we will relocate cats into our working cat program as a last resort if they are in immediate danger. Relocation is rarely recommended for community cats.

DO YOU TNR KITTENS?

Kittens must be at least 8 weeks old and over 2 pounds to be spayed/neutered. Once kittens have reached this milestone, we will TNR kittens. If they are not big enough to be fixed, we will monitor the area until they are ready for surgery. Pending available fosters, we can intake a small amount of friendly kittens into our foster program and can attempt to network to other rescues.

CAN YOU HELP WITH AN INJURED COMMUNITY CAT?

In most circumstances, no. Please take any injured community cat to your local shelter if you are unable to be financially responsible for a veterinary visit. You can check out our low cost veterinary recommendations on our Resources page. If it is a cat we have previously TNRed, please reach out and we will see if we are able to help.

DO YOU HAVE A PHYSICAL LOCATION I CAN BRING A CAT?

No, we do not have a physical location to drop off cats. Our holding area for trapped cats can only accommodate cats waiting for spay/neuter appointments and those in recovery. Our kittens will all be in foster homes and not at a shelter location.
